Mini Instagrams Via Smash Book

For a while now I have had a blank Smash Book in my closet. A Smash Book is a memory book that you are suppose to “smash” all sorts of pictures, ticket stubs, ideas, and pretty things in! There are a bunch of different styles of Smash Books and they each have a variety of pretty patterned pages! My Smash Book sat empty for the longest time because I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to put in it and I didn’t want to mess up the pages!

But finally I had an idea and committed to go with it!! I decided that Instagram photos would be the perfect thing for “smashing” in our Hawaiian adventure memories!

First I printed off my photos: When I uploaded photos to Instagram I emailed them to myself [that’s an option right before you click “done.”] Then I took all the photos and inserted them into a word document. I re-sized them to be 1.75″ — a nice mini size which fit 20 photos on a sheet. Then printed them on white matte cardstock and cut them out [while watching netflix, of course!]

I happen to spot these 2″ x 2″ Glassine envelopes at the craft store [for 40% off] so I snatched them up! The perfect little protector for my mini instagrams!

And who could resist this fun washi tape!

I had also purchased a few Smash Book Accessories as well.

Then I just started smashing!

As you can see my Smash Book has a lot more room in it and I know that Hawaii is going to provide! I will show you guys once the whole book is filled!

So cute! And what a great idea. I have boxes and boxes full of ticket stubs, notes and hotel room cards that just know I’m going to want some day!

Thanks! I’ve wanted to do an Instagram project but not fork over the cash for a mini book! Love the smash book idea. And how you printed these out was pure genius!! What color cardstock did you use? Does it matter?
    Love this idea!

I used white cardstock but off white or cream might be fun too!
