A Simple Tip To Improve Your Blog

With New Years rolling around soon I have been trying to brainstorm ways to make this blog better for 2012. And thanks to a wonderful client I had a light bulb moment. As the client was emailing me a few edits for her blog design she asked, “Can you please make my sponsor ads open in a new tab.”

Light bulb moment.

Of course! This is one of those small details that goes un looked but makes a big difference! And it makes complete sense….if you have your sponsor ads or links open in the same tab then you are taking people away from your own blog. No good! You are sending your readers on a wild clicking spree only to forget that they were originally reading your blog!

The solution: Have each ad or link open in a new window and ta-da! You have just increased your chances that your readers will stay on your blog and not get lost in a whirlwind of clicking, all while still promoting your sponsors!

Wondering how to make links open in a new tab? >>>

Love light bulb moments! Have you had any good ones lately?

// Oh, and speaking of sponsor ads — I love promoting women bloggers and I am now accepting sponsors! //

Is there a way to set this up so you don’t have to do this every time? I think I did it once, and after my blog redesign it came back. Please help!

Hi Kendra, I have a related question. When I write posts, the links in my post open in the same window, sending my readers away. How can I make the links within my posts (in blogger) appear in new windows or tabs?

Hi! I’m Kendra. I’m hoping you love cookie dough, celebrating holidays with simple traditions and procrastinating laundry just as much as me!
